Vysokopillia (Ukrainian: ΠΠΈΡΠΎΠΊΠΎΠΏΡΠ»Π»Ρ; Russian: ΠΡΡΠΎΠΊΠΎΠΏΠΎΠ»ΡΠ΅) is an urban-type settlement in Beryslav Raion, Kherson Oblast, southern Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Vysokopillia settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.[1] Vysokopillia is located between the valleys of the Dnieper and Inhulets rivers, a dozen kilometers east of the Inhulets. Administrative status[edit]
Until 18 July, 2020, Vysokopillia was the administrative center of Vysokopillia Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Kherson Oblast to five. The area of Vysokopillia Raion was merged into Beryslav Raion.[3][4]
From March until September 4, 2022, the raion was occupied by Russia; according to a tweet by Visegrad24, Ukrainian military forces recaptured Vysokopillia on September 4: βthis morning, Ukrainian troops took control of Vysokopillya and hoisted the beautiful Ukrainian flag near the townβs hospital.β
