Kharkiv Russian Position Shelled
I thought it would be interesting to take a look at this video here, showing the 10th battalion of Ukraine’s third tank brigade using indirect fire to shell a Russian position. The source says tanks were used for the shelling. There is some Ukrainian text what appears on screen, but I will go through those frames individually after running them through a translator. Now—the video cuts a lot. If you watch carefully, there are cuts after each strike, and, note the daylight—it changes too gradually, so this position was bombarded over a period of time. Interestingly, whatever was used to film it remains in pretty much the exact same place which is odd. And surpising that Ukraine could have a drone in this position for an extended period of time without it 1 – being spotted and 2 – being destroyed. Even if, given the cuts, they used multiple drones filming from the same coordinates, it is odd that one still wasn’t spotted here. Now, before we look closer at the strikes. Let’s get orientated—this image shows the direction. The road leads east. We will look more at where exactly this is later. But first, let’s go through each strike. First image – an overview of the position with trenches marked and what is said to be a BMP-2 in a fortified position as protection. Second image – the arrows point to buildings occupied by Russians. The circled item is a roadblock or checkpoint. Now onto the attack itself. The first strike misses considerably, exploding west of the position. The second strike, the text translates to “hit in a trench”. If we refer back to the overview map, we can see that the trench is the one where the BMP is hidden. Additionallly, I have a Z next to an excavator on a mound of earth. I am guessing more fortifications are being built here. The Z is quite large—I guess to mark this position as a Russian checkpoint to passers by? Though it’s a bit up the road from the main position. Additionally, shortly after this impact, a bird flies past the right hand side of the screen. Circled. The third strike impacts just behind the white and peach building. Strike 4 – west side of the same building. Strike 5 – same building targeted again. This one, a very near miss. But, as see in the next strike—it didn’t destroy or damage the building. Strike 6 – This hits with a bigger explosion. It could be that it detonated something or, that the past strikes landed on softer ground so didn’t make as big a boom. Looking briefly at the overhead shot—I have circled the approximate point of impact. Strike 7 – A hit on the most westernmost building. You can see rubble fall to the ground after the strike hit the roof. Strike 8 - The text a moment later translated to Robot 3 selected … no idea what that means. Either way, the program I used didn’t seem to have translated it correctly. Perhaps someone who speaks Ukrainian can fill us in? Now, there are a couple other things to note. Mainly a lot of smoke. This could be as a result of fires caused by the round that hit the roof of the westernmost building, or it could be smoke from strikes that we didn’t see, taking place between that one and this. As for the strike itself—another solid hit on one of the buildings. The final text on screen says exploration and correction of the Phoenix Cloud. I don’t think this is referring to the Phoenix Ghost drones that have been sent as they are loitering munitions, rather, it’s the unit who carried out the strikes. Phoenix Unit.
